Optimum tl5 sax mouthpiece review
WebMay 27, 2024 · I tried a new reed and ligature on this mouthpiece and it played great. Full and rich lows and nice dynamic highs. I should have done much more experimenting than I did when I wrote my original evaluation. Now change my previous rating from a 3 to a 5! One person found this helpful Helpful Report abuse Edward S. WebJan 24, 2015 · I think the AL5 facilitates doubling because it's not so closed. I played a couple of selections on tenor at today's gig, and the adjustment from alto seemed easier, and more nearly instantaneous, than with the AL3. I'm pretty sure the AL5 will become my regular mouthpiece for concert band work.

Since it's an expensive piece, I recommend using a mouthpiece protector patch to help keep your teeth from cutting into the tip.
