We all use 60 year old parts anyway, why not update the cam and use it too. Besides, as stated before this would be taking an absolutely bone stock camshaft and making its profile with a little better performance.

A master is made with the same profile as a good lobe, and then the lobes are all ground to that shape, just a little bit smaller until the lobe has been "cleaned up" all around.
